Percutaneous ultrasound during carotid artery stenting using double-layer stent

Carotid artery stenting (CAS) is one of the treatments for carotid stenosis; however, it associated with risk postoperative embolism due to in-stent plaque protrusion. CASPER Rx (Terumo, Co.) stent expected prevent protrusion because double-layered structure. Double-layer segment required be deployed over during placement; real-time understanding position difficult. Percutaneous ultrasound examination was used placement 16 lesions in 12 patients. Ultrasound CAS useful detecting and stent, which can repositioned, controlling cell density.
